If you are interested in joining us for a virtual book discussion, please email: director@natickhistoricalsociety.org.

Everyone is welcome to join a discussion of The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson.

The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek (2019), tells the story of Bluet, a young woman with blue-toned skin living in 1930s rural Appalachia, working as a pack horse librarian funded by the PWA. Richardson’s novel is based off the true family of blue-skinned people living in eastern Kentucky and the real pack horse librarians of the 1930s who braved treacherous paths through the mountains to deliver books.

This program is co-sponsored with the Bacon Free Library. It is FREE and open to the public.
