A square from the Ben Hem Bicentennial Quilt.
To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, we celebrate the Bicentennial Quilt created by Fleur Mahal's 5th grade class at Ben Hem School in 1976. Hear reflections from Ms. Mahal and the students who worked on the quilt.
Current students in the Wilson Middle School Pops Chorus, directed by Heather Moretz, will perform a medley from Hamilton: An American Musical, and soloists Charlotte and Ian Kuong will sing two patriotic songs.
Now in the Collections of the Natick Historical Society, the quilt will be on public display at the Morse Institute Library from May to October 2026. Participants at this event will have the opportunity to view the quilt up close and personal.
