On October 25, 1848 the Cochituate Acqueduct brought water from Natick to Boston for the first time. More than 100,000 people celebrated on Boston Common.
Natick Historical Society researcher and longtime Lake Cochituate advocate Cindy Tripp will discuss the development and completion of the Cochituate Aqueduct on October 25, 1848. Her talk will consider the history of fresh water and water works long before the acqueduct and up to the present day.
